Sughnen Yongo is an NYU Journalism graduate, devoted mother of two, and captivating storyteller with an immigrant background whose unique background and perspectives have provided an exciting flair in her narratives. Her work has appeared in Distractify, The Root, NYU Press, Travel Noire, and Pavement Pieces. She draws inspiration from films, travel, daydreams, and reading. An eclectic music enthusiast, Sughnen enjoys a mix of genres that includes everything from the witty lyricism of Jay-Z, Eminem, and Nicki Minaj to the indigenous sounds of Davido and 2 Baba. Sughnen is particularly fond of vintage Nollywood films.
